THE MINHO GASTRONOMY

In the land of Vinho Verde, codfish, like everywhere else, is always one of the products and favorite dishes. But papas de sarrabulho, rojões and other delicious dishes enrich Minho cuisine and restaurant menus. In Valença you can eat cod like nowhere else.


Codfish here is a delicacy of the gods. Caldo Verde is one of the 7 gastronomic wonders of Portugal, a genuine soup from Valença. Borrachinhos de Valença are a convent sweet. And to accompany these delicious specialties, the famous Vinho Verde, typical and worldwide exclusive wine from the Minho region, whose best-known grape variety is Alvarinho. In Monção and Melgaço - thanks to the climate, the soil and the experience of the local people - the Alvarinho variety makes the most of it and produces wines of excellent quality.

GALICIA GASTRONOMY

Galicia is known for its coastline with a large amount of fish and seafood, considered the best in Spain and very popular throughout Europe.

 

Galician gastronomy has a great variety and tradition. This gastronomic culture is related to the traditional hospitality of the Galicians. Seafood is one of the most important elements in Galician cuisine.

 

The famous parilladas can be made from either seafood or meat. Seafood or meat are grilled over charcoal.

And you can't leave Galicia without tasting these fish, and especially the famous Galician octopus, accompanied by good wine.
